Hale Kimo Ohana- -House of Jim's Family- -is a 'home away from home' for our 5 children, spouses, and 17 grandchildren when they come to visit us. This home has been blessed by beauty, peace, serenity and 'a location that is hard to beat'.
Please note we even have some cows about 2 miles from us at the University of Hawaii extension farm.
Ted's Bakery is a true "Horatio Alger" story! Ted was a Pastry Chef at a major hotel in Waikiki. He got tired of the "rat race" and came back home to the North Shore to his parent's store! He started off making a few special pies per week. Today with the help of 25 employees, Ted now bakes 312,000 pies per year. His pies are sold everywhere. Stop by on your North Shore Tour and have a piece of his original "Chocolate Haupia" pie, now famous! Best of all Ted's Bakery is just walking distance from Hale Kimo. His sweet rolls are 'to die for' -- try them! His plate lunches are very local, delicious and big enough for two people.
There is a 3 mile paved and landscaped bike lane for great exercise walking or riding as well as meeting other nice people along the way. Note bike lane in picture looking back from Life Guard's tower. The beach is wide and its white course sand is fun to hike on! Hale Kimo is in the middle of this bay and beach. Location! Location! Location!
